Accessibility
Joiner Labs, a trade name of Toolbelt, LLC, wants everyone to be able to use joinerlabs.com. That includes people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification or captions, and people on small screens or slow connections.
Our target
We build joinerlabs.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is a goal we work to, not a promise that every page is perfect. We have not yet had an outside audit.
What we do
- Contrast. Text and controls meet the AA contrast ratios.
- Keyboard. Every link, button and form works with a keyboard alone. The focus mark is always visible.
- Forms. Every field has a label. Error messages say what went wrong and how to fix it.
- Images. Images that carry meaning have text descriptions.
- Target size. Buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels.
- Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site uses a short fade instead of movement. Anything that moves for more than 5 seconds has a pause control.
- Phones. We build for a phone-width screen first, and the pages reflow without sideways scrolling.
What we test
Before each release we run automated checks (axe and Lighthouse) and review the pages on a phone-width screen. We fix what we find before the page goes live. We have not yet had a full manual review with a keyboard and a screen reader.
Known limits
- Other companies’ pages. Stripe’s payment page, and tools from Google and Meta, have their own accessibility. We do not control them.
- Apps we have built. Most screens are images with text descriptions. The demos under /demos/ and the sample on the home page are working apps with made-up data. Each demo has a text summary of what it shows: screen readers reach it at any screen width, and on wider screens it also shows beside the app. If one does not work with your assistive tool, email us and we send the same information another way.
- Documents we send you. A proposal or an invoice in PDF may not work fully with every assistive tool. Ask us and we send the same information in another format.
- Apps we build for customers. This statement covers joinerlabs.com. Each app we build is shaped around its customer. Ask us about the accessibility of a specific app.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on joinerlabs.com is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@joinerlabs.com. Tell us:
- the page address;
- what happened;
- the device, browser and assistive tool you used, if you know them.
We reply within 1 business day. We then work to fix the problem, or to give you the same information or service another way, such as by email in a format that works for you.
Updates
We update this statement when our site or our testing changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
